Finally made it to the new Salt & Straw in Larchmont Village! And sure enough, there was a line even in the late afternoon on a temperate day, but what’re you gonna do. I went for a sampler of stuff mostly on the “early autumn” menu—California Peaches with Lemon Crumble, Cinnamon Apple Doughnuts, Summer Sweet Corn Buttermilk, and Tomato Water & Olive Oil Sherbet (sweet rather than savory). Hard to pick a favorite, but I’ll go with...Cinnamon Apple Doughnuts. Because doughnuts, although the lemon crumble made a pretty persuasive case.

Rob had to get his own, however. A rabbit doesn’t wait in line to share.
