Season 6 of Community premieres on Yahoo this Tuesday. To mark the occasion, I came to the campus of L.A. Community Campus—where they shoot exterior scenes for the show—looking for a little paintball action, but I guess the current heatwave scared everybody off. Too bad; this is one time where being a small target really helps.

The courtyard of the Malibu Hindu Temple, beside the inner shrine to Venkteswara where puja services are offered. You do have to remove your shoes before entering, but luckily, the priest didn’t bust me on the other aspects of the dress code.

Pausing on the front steps of the Malibu Hindu Temple just up the road from the M*A*S*H site. It’s a two-tier complex dedicated to Shiva on the lower level and Venkateswara on its magnificent upper level—all bone-white stone and golden statuary, it really is like something airlifted out of southern India and randomly dropped in the middle of the Santa Monica Mountains.

Try not to think about the fact that it’s probably being best known in the wider world for Britney’s visit several years ago.
